Indigenous artist Evan Redsky and his partner Emma Greenfield discuss issues within Canada’s paradigm. Redsky, an Indigenous musician, seeks refuge within his art to heal from years of abuse directed towards Indigenous Peoples in Canada. Through his stories he honours residential school survivors and the long-term effects of inter-generational trauma involving alcoholism and cultural alienation of Indigenous Peoples. Redsky was ashamed of his culture and of his identity because there was a lack of discussion growing up. Redsky’s partner Emma Greenfield talks about her own conflict with her identity and about her work in the Indigenous community as an employee of Seneca’s First People’s Centre.
